We, The People

What is America?  Who are we?  Do we “know thyself” as a collective, We, the People?

Are we a democracy where “three wolves and two sheep vote over what we are going to have for dinner?”

Or are we a republic, a people represented by politicians entrusted with power to serve the will of the majority?

In fact, America is neither.

America is not a government.  America is an idea, a conversation, a People, a Nation.  In its purest sense she encompasses the lofty ideal that People, collectively, not the government, are chief, supreme, master, sovereign, king; and have the final say in choosing the form and manner through which those elected, serve them. This is the purpose for the constitution that creates and defines the structure and power of government. The People then decide by election, who will fill the offices to facilitate government service.

Because the People are not the government, America is neither a democracy nor a republic, as these describe forms of governments.

Rather, are We, The People, not a monarchy, co-sovereigns deriving this divine commission from on high.

As acknowledge in Colorado's constitution, we are vested with our right of sovereignty by the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, the Creator, who endows the American People with this uniquely unalienable, divine right of Kings

But America has abandoned her gift, renouncing it for another--
the control of government.
