Know Thyself

It is knowing who I am
that makes the difference.

Know thyself!

If I do not know who I am
If I do not know myself,
I am powerless
under my own power.

If I do not know me,
How could I possibly begin
to know others?

If I do not know myself
I don’t know
what I am capable of
or incapable of.

Do I know myself?
Is what I know of myself
Something I made up about me?
Am I a star in a movie about my life?
A movie in which I am
the producer,
the director,
and every actor requisite
to fulfill every  role necessary
to perpetuate my drama?
Do I not know that:
I am a son of God,
who is the Creator,
against whom America is in rebellion?
That I am a brother
to a murdered king,
who was afterward resurrected?
and lives even today?
That I too am a king,
Called into the capacity
Together with this King
Who is the King of kings?

That I have at my disposal
complete access
to the power of Heaven
and its Hosts
to accomplish anything
in the name of the King.

Stop.
Wrap your mind around this.
Be in this moment
And grasp the significance
Of what you have just read.
Ask yourself
Does it fit?

If it fits,
Acknowledge that
without this knowledge
about yourself,
you are weak
and impotent;
But with it,
by embracing it,
you are powerful
beyond imagination.

This is who America
needs to stand for,
and with,
in the coming days.

How will she recognize them?

Primarily among other things,
by their love,
one for another.
