The Word

Nowhere in the Bible is it written that:
"the Bible
is the Word of God."

The opening words of Gospel of John provide that:
“In the beginning was the Word,
And the Word was with God,
And the Word was God . . .
. . . and the Word became Flesh
and dwelt among us.”

According to these words,
the Word is God.
 The Bible is not God,
and therefore cannot be the Word.

It would be idolatry to worship the Bible
as though it were God,
Or its ministers,
as though they were God's.

God is Love,
(1 John 4: 7-8)
The Word is therefore Love
God is Spirit,
(John 4:24)
The Word is therefore Spirit
God is Light,
(1 John 1:5)
The Word is therefore Light
God is Truth,
The Word is therefore Truth.

The Word is.

The Bible is a collection
of historical documents,
laws and commandments
and both prophetic and inspired writings.

 "For this cause also
thank we God without ceasing,
because,
when ye received
the word of God
which ye heard of us,
ye received it not as the word of men,
but as it is in truth,
the word of God,
which effectually worketh also in you that believe."
1Th 2:13

"Wherein I suffer trouble,
as an evil doer,
even unto bonds;
but
the word of God
is not bound." 2Ti 2:9

 "For
the word of God
is quick,
and powerful,
and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Heb 4:12

"Through faith we understand
that the worlds were framed
by the word of God,
so that things which are seen
were not made of things
which do appear."

Heb 11:3

"Seeing ye have purified your souls
in obeying the truth
through the Spirit
unto unfeigned love
of the brethren,
see that
ye love one another
with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again,

not of corruptible seed,
but of incorruptible,
by the word of God,
which liveth and abideth for ever."
 1Pe 1:22-23

"And I saw heaven opened,
and behold a white horse;
and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire,
and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written,
that no man knew,
but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture

dipped in blood:
and his name is called

The Word of God."

Rev 19:11-13
