Two Worlds

Although we are all born
into what we know as
“the world,”
we each entered through the portal
of our mother’s womb
into different worlds—
separate realities
each being distinctly unique
and peculiar to each one of us,
environments that are the sum
of all the events and circumstances
shaping the spiritual,
mental, emotional
and physical environment
leading up to that moment
into which we were introduced.
Heritage, lineage, geography,
culture, tradition, religion,
chance, fate and much more,
were all factors
shaping the particulars
of the subjective worlds
we each have come to accept
as the foundation of our particular world—
the reality through which
we each interact with the worlds of others
as they occur to us,
both individually, and collectively,
in their own peculiar way,
through our point of view,
our perspective.
